Job Description


The Regional Service Manager will be responsible for driving service strategies that attains targets set by corporate objectives. With complete account responsibilities for a broad range of customers, the ideal candidate for this role will maintain a high standard of customer satisfaction, and ability to develop and deliver technical training to internal and external field customers. The Regional Service Manager will provide an ongoing communication medium between the Technical Managers and the District Managers.

Job Responsibilities:

•Develop, manage, and accomplish territory service strategies that attains targets set by corporate objectives.
•Maintain high standards of customer satisfaction within area of responsibility.
•Complete territory responsibilities to cover a broad range of customers (OEM’s, Dealers and Fleets).
•Involvement in all emerging technical issues (new product issues that have no resolution).
•Report all emerging issues to Director, Field Service and Warranty Systems.
•Provide technical support to the field as directed from the Director, Field Service and Warranty Systems and OnTrac Technical Managers.
•Support all Regional District Managers in their technical roles.
•Involvement with the DM will take place when the RSM and DM jointly agree additional technical support is needed or as directed by the Director, Field Service and Warranty Systems and Regional Director/Manager.
•Participate in monthly program/communication meetings to assist in a final solution to emerging issues and to be privy to new issues
•With Director, Field Service and Warranty Systems, OnTrac Technical Managers and divisional personnel.
•With Regional District Managers, National Account Managers and Regional Directors/Managers.
•Manage Regional Technical Training as directed by Training Manager and Director, Field Service and Warranty Systems per the following.
•Manage Partners In Education technical facilities and/or OE/Fleet training facility within their specific region to determine they have resources for Meritor training.
•Training product/equipment
•Publications
•Diagnostic software
•Training programs
•Special tools
•Assist in training program development.
•Assist in development of technical diagnostic procedures.
•Assist in training aid/equipment development.
•Assist in scheduling instructor led training (both corporate and regional).
•Delegation of training to DM’s as deemed necessary.
•Develop and support; training schedules and required materials with RSM Team
•Deliver technical training programs to internal and external customers.
•Assist in the design and construction of training aids for training program support.
•Assist in external customer technician competitions.
•Meet all budget and reporting targets.

Job Requirements


•Bachelor degree or 2 years technical degree in motor vehicle studies preferred.
•10 years experience working in the motor vehicle industry preferred.
•This position requires the individual to possess strong organizational skills, time management skills, and communication skills.
•Ability to travel overnight.
