Job Description

Plans and conducts activities associated with the quality assurance, control and improvement of products and business processes in a very busy non-union packaging and distribution environment. This role will be more focused on internal, operations support.

Job Responsibilities:

Investigate daily customer complaint details and internal error capture
•Data analysis and reporting
•Tracking of employee quality performance
•Participate in employee coaching/discipline meetings

Investigate occurrences of internal non-compliance to documented processes and procedures
• Issue personal errors as appropriate
• Follow-up with facilitator, lead and employee to determine root cause and corrective action
• Conduct process audits, risk-based schedule

Lead continuous improvement activities
• Coach/facilitate formal problem solving
• IMACT Events
• Best Practice Events
• Training

Assist QA Manager with data maintenance, retention and recall as required

Create and maintain appropriate work instructions for designated responsibilities

Assist in maintaining compliance to ISO9001 QMS requirements
• Must be trained as a QMS auditor and conduct a minimum of 2 audits per cycle
• Assist with the preparation of management review content

Support maintaining compliance to all EHS requirements, near-miss and incidence reporting within the department and the facility

May perform other duties as assigned, including Quality Manager responsibilities during absence

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's degree; technical field or operations preferred, but not required
• Ability to operate a computer fluidly, including Microsoft Office Suite; willingness to learn internal proprietary systems (AS400 and JDA)
• Good communication / grammar / writing skills
• Strong quality-focused mentality
• Must be comfortable working with individuals at all levels within the organization
• Ability to investigate and troubleshoot discrepancies; strong problem solving skills
• Experience in manufacturing and/or packing/warehousing preferred, but not required
